The Power of Creation: How it Spreads Joy in Our Lives

Art is such an important way to engage kids and get their minds thinking creatively. We all grew up learning and incorporating creativity into our every day lives. In a literal sense, there is an aspect of art in everything we do, from how we make a meal, to how we clean our house, to the way we live our every day. Ultimately the way we do life is literally art. It is such a beautiful way to think of life.

There are aspects of my own childhood that really stand out for me when it comes to where I am at in my life right now. I remember my mom taking me to these craft classes. She would drop me off at the class, and I immediately fell in love, for in front of me were these amazing crafts that I was about to be shown how and given the freedom to just make stuff. The class would always have a theme, and there would be a array of materials on the table in front of me. My eyes were a sparkle, I was in awe. Throughout the class, the craft director would show us the steps to craft and create thus ending up with a awesome creation that you hand made.

These fun classes were a pinnacle of my childhood. I loved making things so much that I would often make things for others, gifts just because or for a occasion, because I found it to be such a touching aspect of love you are putting into the creation for another. To me it was, and remains all about the smiles, that joy it brings to another. The rest follows. The rest eventually figures itself out because ultimately at the heart of things, we all want to feel joyous, free and loved above all.
